The beauty of exploring portions of the desert with another photographer is that you often are in receipt of some fun and spontaneous photographs, behind the scene shots that you would never capture otherwise. They remind you of your day, and elicit a memory of where you were, usually doing something you love. This was taken about an hour before sunset, and the beautiful day was turning cold and windy. Nonetheless, this image will remain one of my favorites. This is me, doing something I love, in a place I had never been, recording a moment I will not ever forget.

This is me.

Gorgeous! Not having a 4WD vehicle, I unfortunately wasn't ever able to get there.

Well depending upon your vehicle (I saw a wide array of variations) it is possible in a 2WD. If you have the opportunity... take it. Breathtaking!

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind! Perhaps the rangers who were advising us were being overly conservative. I'm sure the conditions also depend somewhat on the time of year.
